The handle is ornately decorated with the open mouthed dragon from Japan with three toes. He is breathing out the brass blade which also has dragons decorating each side. Dragons represent power, freedom, balance and good luck within Japanese culture so this highlights the significance of these symbols being used to open letters.
This would make a fabulous birthday gift, housewarming gift holiday gift or for any Japanese metal enthusiasts. MEASUREMENTS Letter opener measures 12" long by 1.25" wide and weighs 3.3oz.
