Gump's Letter Opener - Antique Hetian Jade Button or Garment Hook

It was fashioned into a letter opener by the famous Gump's of San Francisco. Those in the know understand that Richard Gump used the finest of antique carved jade pieces for items such as this. I believe the blade is gold-plated, but I see no marking for that. It, too, had no mark I could find that indicated a gold plating. The antique jade is from the Qing Dynasty and it is an early piece as I was told.

The blade is marked Hong Kong Gump's. The blade has no bends or dents. The jade has no damage as well. Included in this sale is the original silk-covered Gump's storage box.
