On offer today is a splendid genuine Edinburgh Sterling Silver Handled Letter Opener which bears the Fancy Pistol Pattern which is very pleasing on the eyes. The piece has a genuine steel blade which has a mirrored finish. The handle is fully hallmarked with the letter q for 1897 along with the City of Edinburgh Mark and the Sterling Standard Mark along with the Makers Mark which is RS - the Makers Mark for Robert Smeaton. The Silver handle on this particular letter opener is in terrific condition for its age as the photos reflect and looks very special. The marks are crisp on this piece for its age.
