Sampson Mordan English Sterling Silver Letter Opener / Pen Knife London 1897
Created by the firm of Sampson Mordan & Company , which was founded by the English silversmith Sampson Mordan (17901843), inventor of the mechanical pencil. Later the business was passed down to his son Sampson Mordan II, who registered his first hallmark in 1880 , and can be found working through 1939.
