Here for your consideration is an exquisite, vintage, novelty, sterling silver, ornate sword, letter opener, made to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, in 1977, complete with red leather case and made by top London retailer Asprey and Co. A truly stunning piece of workmanship fully hallmarked A & Co Ltd for Asprey and Company Limited with the lion passant, Sheffield rose assay stamp, Queen's head, and date letter'C' for 1977. It's in fantastic original condition with no splits, damage or dents. The letter opener does have some beautiful age related patina, commensurate with 40 years of age, but nothing unusual.The red leather presentation case is also in lovely clean condition. This is as good as it gets with regards to novelty Asprey & Co letter openers.
