Antique Sterling Silver Letter Opener/Bookmark/Page Turner (17cm)Chester 1924
Antique Sterling Silver Book Mark. This beautiful 6 ¾ long item is made from sterling silver. The terminal is in the form of the initial R with a small gap between it and the blade (for holding paper) and the tapered blade has slightly rounded surfaces. This piece appears to have 3 purposes which are as a letter opener, a page turner and also a bookmark. It is hallmarked for Chester 1924 with the makers mark of Grey & Co. This item is in lovely, usable condition. The only issues to mention are two very slight kinks to the lower section of the blade which are only really noticeable from sideways on and that, after 97 years, there are a few surface abrasions caused through use.
