John Deere Velie brass dagger letter opener antique original patina uncleaned

This is an antique dagger style letter opener from John Deere and Velie motors. I've read that it is from the 1910s, but I was unable to find an exact date online. Velie motors folded in 1928, so it is at least that old. One side has "Deere" in raised letters and the other side has Velie. The tip of the blade has some waviness as shown in the pictures. There are a couple scratches. The patina is original and it has not been cleaned. There is only one other listed right now, but it looks as if it has been cleaned.

All the profit from this sale will go to the elderly person who asked me to sell this for her. She has had it longer than she can remember.
