Two Antique Page Turner Letter Openers. Up for sale are the two page turner letter openers, including a Japanese Meiji Period letter opener and a Victorian page turner letter opener, dated late 19. The Japanese Meiji Period letter opener or paper knife in brass is designed at one side of the handle with the head of two lions in opposite direction. The blade is briefly etched at the same side with a leaf and a flower.
There is a tiny hole at the end of the handle. The Victorian page turner letter opener is designed at both sides of the handle to have in detail the same bust of an elegant lady. However, the identity of the metal is unknown.
Measures: Japanese letter opener; 5" long x ½" wide; Victorian letter opener, 4 ½" long x 1" wide (across widest parts); Weight, totally, 9 oz (255 grams). Condition: Very good and clean, except that the Victorian letter opener has mild patina loss and the end of its blade is not smooth.
